3 Low Cost Improvements

When you’re getting your home ready to sell, think about what you can do to set it apart from the rest. Here are three low cost improvements that will help your property stand out.

Paint:
A quality paint job can change the look of any room (you can see examples of this at HGTV.com). Adding a layer of paint can cover up nail holes and any wear they may be showing.  Keep in mind, a poor paint job will cause the value of your property to decrease, as buyers will see this as something they have to change.
For a quality paint job, contact TruNorth Painting (contact information below). Tell them Stomberg Real Estate Group referred you.

Carpet:
You may not notice the appearance of your carpet, but buyers will. Instead of replacing your carpet, get it professionally cleaned. Carpet cleaning can remove dirt, stains and odors. Clean carpet stands out among other homes.   We suggest using A New Direction Carpet Cleaning (contact information below). Tell them Stomberg Real Estate Group referred you.

Basement:
Thorough cleaning of your basement, including your utilities, can go a long way.  Remove any visible cobwebs, dust or dirt.   You do not want buyers to turn away from your property just because your furnace and water heater do not look maintained. Clean them up! Dust the basement and utilities, even wash or vacuum the floor. This could save you from losing potential buyers.
These three low cost improvements will give your property that extra push to put it on the top of a buyer’s list.

3 Simple Ideas to Reduce Clutter in Your Home!

The number one way to improve the appearance of your home is to DECLUTTER. Reducing the amount excess in your home makes it feel larger!

Counters:
Clear off any items that you do not use at least 3 times a week. When you eliminate the excess items that are stored on your counters your kitchen appears larger! This also applies to bathroom counter tops.

Kitchen and Bathroom Cupboards and Drawers:
To make your kitchen and bathrooms feel clean and tidy remove excess items from your cupboards and drawers. Again, if there are items that you have not used or have not seen in years donate them or opt to store them.

Closets:
When you walk in your closet is it jammed packed with excess clothes, shoes and bags? Take a few minutes and sort through the items that you no longer use. Another option would be to store your seasonal clothing, shoes and bags in boxes. Reducing the amount of things in your closets gives your closet an organized and fresh look.

After you have tackled those 3 areas look around your house for other places to eliminate excess. If you are not using it, do you really need it?

I have provided the information for a storage facility we recommend below for after you have tackled the task of removing the excess items from your home. If you chose to donate items we recommend using GoodDonor.com they will pick donations from your home. The storage facility below provides a free trailer for you to transport your stuff to their secure, climate controlled location.
